The hefty $81m in fines imposed by the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) on 23 liner operators is expected to confirmed, after the country's Supreme Court ruled this week that the Fair Trade Act does apply to collusion on fixing freight rates. Read moreAsia-Europe peak season? Mind the capacity gap - The Loadstar
It was this time last year, with the Red Sea crisis in full swing, that the first signs of an early peak season on the Asia-Europe trades began to make itself apparent. Read moreKuehne+Nagel partners with cargo.one on airline booking
Kuehne+Nagel (K+N) has linked its systems with those of third-party booking portal cargo.one to expand the number of airlines its team can access digitally. The partnership sees K+N integrate cargo.one's Offer & Book API Suite into its own systems to gain access to the space offered by the airlines and general sales agents that place their capacity on the booking portal. Holger Ketz, senior vice president and global head of network and carrier management, at Kuehne+Nagel, told Air Cargo News: "Extending our existing host-to-host API connections, we have expanded our booking system, CB Air, using cargo.one's API Suite, which means our team worldwide can now instantly access dozens more airlines and general sales agents for e-booking. "This collaboration helps us ensure that Kuehne+Nagel always has a full spectrum market view around the clock and can respond to customers with maximum speed. We also benefit from cargo.one's diverse portfolio of carriers, its market data quality assurance and support team." He added that the partnership would also simplify workflows and speed up the booking process and said that its own customers would also benefit. "By adding access to cargo.one's continually expanding airline portfolio of more than 65 airlines, tailored to our business needs, our customers benefit from the choice of more capacity options as well as super-high reliability around pricing and e-booking." The move will also hopefully help K+N achieve its goal of processing 85% of all air waybills digitally. Cargo.one founder and co-chief executive Moritz Claussen added: "Optimisation of procurement infrastructure can deliver forwarders substantial financial benefits. "Improved digital access to capacity leads to better market offerings, higher win rates and improved pricing capabilities, resulting in increased revenues. Time savings from more efficient quoting methods and better data quality also translate into cost savings." The new partnership is not the only one announced by cargo.one this year. The portal has also added LOT and SAS Cargo.
